ABOUT US

Magic in words and visions. That is the core of Integral Film. The company, which was founded by Nefise Özkal Lorentzen and Jørgen Lorentzen in 2004, has delved into a plethora of topics such as racism, orientalism, ethnicity, religion, geopolitics, gender equality, freedom of speech and democratic values. Several of our projects have covered stories in conflict areas and war zones. Integral Film aims to produce controversial and creative films and has a special focus on representation of minorities. Our films have received several awards and nominations at prestigious film festivals around the world.

Nefise Özkal Lorentzen is a Turkish-Norwegian writer, filmmaker and professor at The faculty of Audiovisual Media and Creative Technologies at Innland University, Norway. She received her B.A in Political Science at Bosphorus University in Istanbul and her M.A in Media and Communication at the University of Oslo. Over the past two decades she has produced and directed several controversial documentaries related to Islam. Her films have premiered in prestigious festivals such as IDFA, CPH:DOX, Hot Docs, San Francisco FF, Göteborg FF, Hot Springs, One World and Movies That Matter among others. She was nominated for the History Makers Award in NYC.

Producer at Integral Film AS. Former journalist and professor of gender studies at The University of Oslo. He has produced more than 15 films, including the documentary film Kayayo that was short-listed for an Oscar at the 90th Academy Awards in 2018. He also directed and produced the critically acclaimed documentary about the coup attempt in Turkey 2016: A Gift from God. In addition to this he has published several books, among them “Masculinity: Men in Literature and film” (2004), “Gender studies - An introduction” (2008), “Men in the Nordic Countries” (2008), “History of Fatherhood in Norway” (2012).

Ola K. Hunnes brings a hands-on documentary filmmaking experience to Integral Film, seasoned by his impactful years at the Norwegian Film Institute from 2005 to 2023. During his time there, Ola played a key role in nurturing documentaries that captured both the hearts of local audiences and the attention of the global stage. Ola’s early career involved direct involvement in producing and distributing documentaries, marking a period of rich creative output. Now at Integral Film, Ola’s deep understanding of the documentary process and his commitment to excellence in storytelling enhance our collective mission to deliver films that matter.

DALIA AL KURY
Director

Dalia Al Kury is an acclaimed film director whose work navigates cross-genre storytelling. With a keen eye on the Arab world, her films delve into the undercurrents of cultural taboos and societal intricacies.

KARRAR AL-AZZAWI
Director

Karrar Al-Azzawi is an Iraqi filmmaker who lives in Norway. He is a BFA student at the TV School, Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences, Lillehammer, Bachelor of Film-Directing and he will finish Spring 2023. He works as an independent film director as well as working at Integral Film. His vision is to contribute to changing the world by fostering greater understanding and solidarity between people.

ANDERS HOFT, FNF
Cinematographer

Anders Hoft is an experienced cinematographer who has worked in the industry for more than 10 years. He studied cinematography at the National Polish Film School in Łódź. Through collaborations with numerous award-winning directors, he has shot both feature and short form documentaries, fiction films, art films, commercials and TV.

MORTEN HASLERUD
Editor

Morten Haslerud is a seasoned film and television editor with more than 10 years of industry experience. His editing credits include short films, music videos, television episodes and web series. In addition to his editing work, Morten is a fiction film director with a particular flair for the horror genre. His last short film, Antique (2020), has so far won six awards and screened at more than 20 international film festivals world-wide.

SIMON M. VALENTINE
Composer

Simon Matthew Valentine is a composer and filmmaker who has worked extensively with Integral Film across a wide span of projects and positions. Starting early on straight out of high school in 2007, Simon has been on board as an animator and lately as a composer for many of Integral Films’ productions. Currently Simon is carving out his own career as a writer and director with his own brand of psychological magical realism.

HÅKON IVERSEN
Composer

Håkon Iversen is a composer, arranger, musician and a professor in music production and composition at the Kristiania University College in Oslo, Norway. He has been a record producer and composer of music for film and theatre for almost 40 years, and have received a number of nominations and prices for his work. A Cup of covid is Håkon Iversens first project together with Nefise Özkal Lorentzen’s and Jørgen Lorentzen’s film productions.

DANIEL ANGYAL
Sound Designer

Daniel Angyal is a sound designer who has worked in the film industry for about 20 years. His background is mostly from working at different Norwegian post production facilities where he has worked or supervised several titles mostly children feature films/action/adventure/animations, documentaries and shorts.
